Scope

HG/T 5751-2020 is the English-translated version of 动力电池外壳用绝缘阻燃胶粘带.

HG/T 5751-2020 is the Chinese chemical industry standard for the single-sided flame-retardant insulating tape used inside electric-vehicle batteries, built on a PET or PI film backing coated on one face with pressure-sensitive adhesive. It sorts the tape by backing, forbids joints on rolls fed to automatic battery lines and allows at most one per roll for manual assembly, then specifies dimensions and the properties measured fresh and after damp-heat ageing: 180-degree peel adhesion, static shear, loop tack, low-speed unwinding force, puncture resistance to ASTM D1000, breakdown voltage, insulation resistance at 500 V and flame resistance. Lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and the brominated flame retardants are limited, and halogen content is found by ion chromatography. Stored between -5 °C and 40 °C the tape keeps for one year. Issued on 9 December 2020, it has applied since 1 April 2021.
