Foreword

GB/T 17659 "Sampling and Judging Method for Batch Inspection of Log Sawn Timber" is divided into the following two parts.

--- Part 1. Sampling and determination methods for log batch inspection;

--- Part 2. Sawmill batch inspection sampling, determination method. This part is the first part of GB/T 17659. This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This part replaces GB/T 17659.1-1999 "Sampling and determination methods for batch inspection of sawn timber. Part 1. Batch inspection of logs Sample, judgment method. Compared with GB/T 17659.1-1999, the main technical contents are changed as follows:

--- Revised scope (see Chapter 1);

---Modified and added some terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

---Modified inspection rules (see Chapter 5);

--- Revised the sampling plan (see Table 1);

--- Revised the volume error rate of log samples and relaxed the requirements for the number of logs (volume) characteristics (see 7.3). 1 Scope

GB/T 17659.1-2018 is the Chinese national standard on sampling and judging methods for lot inspection of logs and sawn timbers - part 1:sampling and judging methods for lot inspection of logs, in the field of wood technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. 3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 144, GB/T 2828.1-2012 and GB/T 15787 apply to this document.

3.1 Log unit product productoflogunit The basic unit of log products that are divided to meet the needs of the sampling inspection.

3.2 Log inspection batch loginspectionbatch A number of log unit products that have been assembled for the purpose of sampling inspections.
