1 Scope

GB/T 12547-2009 is the Chinese national standard on minimum stable speed test method for motor vehicles, in the field of road vehicles engineering. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 23 March 2009 by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 January 2010. This standard specifies the minimum stable speed test method for motor vehicles. This standard is applicable to all kinds of motor vehicles. Automobile train may be implemented by reference to this standard.

3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

3.1 Minimum stable speed It refers to the minimum speed at which motor vehicles can travel steadily; this speed can ensure the motor not stalled, transmitting mechanism not vibrated, motor vehicle in steady and continuous acceleration, and the corresponding engine speed not declined.

4 Test conditions

6 Test Results

6.1 Arithmetic average of the actual measurement speed shall be taken as the minimum stable speed in this gear position of this motor vehicle.
