This standard replaces GB/T 1230-1991 High Strength Plain Washers for Steel Structures. As compared with GB/T 1230-1991, the changes in this standard are listed as below. -The dimension code of plain washers has been changed into "h" (Chapter 3 of GB/T 1230-1991).

This national standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee 85 on Fasteners Standardization Administration of China this national standard was drafted by China Academy of Railway Sciences, and the participating organizations of drafting are China Academy of Machinery Science & Technology, Shanghai High Strength Bolts Plant, Central Research Institute of Building and Construction, MCC Group, Daye Special Steel Co., Ltd. This national standard was prepared by Cheng Jiqing and Shen Jiahua.

The previous versions replaced by this standard are as follows. --GB 1230-1976, GB 1230-1984, GB/T 1230-1991. 2High Strength Plain Washers for Steel Structures 1 Scope This national standard specifies the style and size, technical condition and tagging of the high strength plain whose dimensions are 12mm~30mm.

This national standard is applicable to the contact sets of friction-type high strength bolt hexagon nut and plain washer for steel structures which should be used together with GB/T 1228-2006 High Strength Bolts with Large Hexagon Head for Steel Structures.
