Scope
GB 34660-2026 is the English-translated version of 道路车辆 电磁兼容性要求和试验方法.
GB 34660-2026 is China's mandatory whole-vehicle EMC standard. It sets the electromagnetic emission limits and the immunity requirements for vehicles and for their electrical and electronic sub-assemblies (ESAs), and gives the test methods for each: broadband and narrowband radiated emission and radiated immunity at vehicle level, the same three at ESA level, and transient conducted immunity and emission along supply lines. It applies to M, N and L category vehicles and their ESAs, and it also covers how vehicles are judged to be of the same type for inspection and how conformity of production is assessed. It replaces GB 34660-2017 and applies from 1 July 2027.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions, together with those given in GB/T 29259-2012, apply.
3.1 electrical/electronic sub-assembly, ESA. Electrical or electronic equipment or components, with the electrical connections that enable them to perform one or more specified functions.
4 Requirements
4.1.1 Under normal operating conditions, the design, manufacture and installation of a vehicle shall meet the requirements of 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4. For an ESA submitted for type inspection that meets the applicability criteria of Appendix A, the design, manufacture and installation shall meet the requirements of 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8 and 4.9 under normal operating conditions.
4.1.2 Where the operating state of the test equipment, the functional excitation conditions, the monitored functions, the failure criteria or intentional transmissions are not expressly specified in this document, the vehicle manufacturer and the testing organisation shall agree a test plan before the test.
4.2.1 When tested according to 5.1 by the 10 m method, the vehicle broadband radiated emission results shall be below the limits of Table 1 and Figure 1.
4.2.2 When tested according to 5.1 by the 3 m method, the vehicle broadband radiated emission results shall be below the limits of Table 2 and Figure 2.
5 Test methods
The test methods are carried out in accordance with the annexes: vehicle broadband radiated emission per Appendix B; vehicle narrowband radiated emission per Appendix C; vehicle radiated immunity per Appendix D; ESA broadband radiated emission per Appendix E; ESA narrowband radiated emission per Appendix F; ESA radiated immunity per Appendix G; ESA transient conducted immunity along supply lines per Appendix H; and ESA transient conducted emission per Appendix I.
6 Determination of the same type
6.1 The vehicle manufacturer submits the application for electromagnetic compatibility type inspection. The vehicle broadband radiated emission test, the narrowband radiated emission test and the radiated immunity test are carried out in accordance with Table 11. Where several configurations exist, full coverage at component or system level is permitted: once every relevant component or system listed in Table 11 has been verified at vehicle level, combined testing is no longer required. Where any of the components or systems listed in Table 11 is changed, a new vehicle test shall be carried out.
6.1 d) For vehicles built on a Category II chassis, testing of the chassis is permitted and the vehicle is deemed to comply on the basis of those results. For a Category II chassis with a kerb mass above 30 t, and for a single-unit vehicle with a kerb mass above 30 t, the vehicle radiated immunity test is not required. For Category II chassis and vehicles with four or more axles, the vehicle radiated immunity test of the anti-lock braking system is not required.
6.2 Vehicles of the same type for the purposes of electromagnetic compatibility are those that do not differ substantially in the aspects listed in Table 11.
