Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020, Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.

This document replaces GB/T 32375-2015, Rules of safety technology of produced calcium carbide. Compared with GB/T 32375-2015, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) the scope of the document has been changed (see Clause 1; Clause 1 of the 2015 edition);

b) the terms "calcium carbide furnace" and "closed furnace" and their definitions have been deleted (see 3.1 and 3.2 of the 2015 edition);

c) the terms "electrode container", "calcium carbide cooling plant", "calcium carbide warehouse" and "indirect closed recirculating cooling water system" and their definitions have been added (see Clause 3);

d) basic safety management, plant site selection and layout, buildings and structures, piping and equipment, electrical equipment and instrumentation, and intelligent management have been added (see 4.1 to 4.6);

e) the requirements for tapping robots have been changed (see 4.5.2, 4.5.3, 5.6.1 to 5.6.3; 4.8.13 of the 2015 edition);

f) the requirements for raw material preparation have been changed (see 5.2; 4.1 to 4.3 of the 2015 edition);

g) the requirements for electrode paste charging and electrode container extension have been changed (see 5.3; 4.4.1 to 4.4.5, 4.12.1 to 4.12.10 of the 2015 edition);

h) the requirements for operation of the calcium carbide furnace have been changed (see 5.4; 4.5.1 to 4.6.7, 4.6.1 to 4.6.16 of the 2015 edition);

i) the requirements for open furnaces have been deleted (see 4.5.2 and 4.5.3 of the 2015 edition);

j) the requirements for calcium carbide furnace gas cleaning have been changed (see 5.5; 4.7.1 to 4.7.8 of the 2015 edition);

k) the requirements for overhead crane operation have been deleted (see 4.10 of the 2015 edition);

l) the requirements for calcium carbide crushing have been changed (see 5.7; 4.11.1 of the 2015 edition);

m) the requirements for circulating water have been changed (see 5.8; 4.13.1 and 4.13.2 of the 2015 edition);

n) the requirements for calcium carbide storage have been changed (see Clause 6; 4.11.6 to 4.11.12 of the 2015 edition);

o) the requirements for handling of abnormal operating conditions have been changed (see Clause 7; 4.6.4 to 4.6.15 of the 2015 edition);

p) the requirements for emergency response have been changed (see Clause 8; 4.16.7 to 4.16.10 of the 2015 edition);

q) verification methods have been added (see 4.7, 5.9, 6.4, 7.9 and 8.7).
