Foreword

This document is drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents".

This document replaces GB 12367-2006 "Safety code for painting - Safety for electrostatic paint spraying process". Compared with GB 12367-2006, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) the scope of application of the standard has been changed: it has been adjusted and the scope of application by reference has been deleted (see Clause 1; Clause 1 of the 2006 edition);

b) the definitions of the terms "electrostatic paint spraying", "working area for electrostatic paint spraying", "electrostatic atomizer" and "booth for electrostatic paint spraying" have been changed (see 3.1 to 3.4; 3.1 to 3.4 of the 2006 edition);

c) the requirements for the extent of the electrostatic paint spraying area have been changed [see 4.1 c); 4.1 c) of the 2006 edition];

d) the illuminance requirement for electrostatic paint spraying booths using general lighting has been deleted (see 4.3.1 of the 2006 edition);

e) requirements for spray painting robots have been added (see 5.5.2 and 5.5.3);

f) requirements for the insulation system for electrostatic spraying of waterborne coatings have been added (see 6.3.3);

g) the requirements for the installation and linked control of fire alarm systems in the electrostatic paint spraying area have been changed (see 6.4.6; 4.6.5 of the 2006 edition);

h) requirements for the selection of materials and the design service life of containers and piping have been added (see 8.2.3);

i) the requirements for training and assessment have been changed (see 9.1.1; Clause 10 of the 2006 edition);

j) the requirement for the flash point of cleaning solvents has been changed (see 9.2.4; 9.7 of the 2006 edition);

k) requirements for emergency response have been added (see 9.4);

l) content on verification methods has been added (see Clause 10).
