3 Terms and definitions

For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

contact transient cool feeling Cool feeling perceived by the brain when the skin comes into contact with a fabric at a lower temperature, causing rapid heat loss from the skin surface and a sudden drop in skin temperature, which triggers a response in the sensory nerve endings.

[GB/T 35263-2017, definition 3.1] 3.2 contact cool feeling coefficient qmax Maximum heat flux in the heat-transfer process after the heat-testing plate, which is at a temperature higher than the specified temperature difference relative to the specimen, comes into contact with the specimen under a certain pressure.

NOTE. The unit for qmax is joules per square centimeter per second [J/(cm² · s)].

[GB/T 35263-2017, definition 3.2]

5.1.3 Among all indicators of inherent quality, the lowest test result shall be taken as the grading basis for the batch.

5.1.4 When appearance-quality defects of different grades are found on one single

product, the product shall be graded according to the lowest grade. Only two limiting surface defects of the same grade are permitted on one single product; if more than two occur, the grade shall be reduced by one level.

5.2 Inherent quality requirements

5.2.1 Inherent quality requirements are given in Table 1.

Table 1 -- Inherent quality requirements

5.2.2 For fabrics with brushed or raised face or dark-colored fabrics of garments, the color fastness to wet rubbing for qualified grade may be reduced by half a grade compared with this Standard. Color fastness to water, perspiration, rubbing and washing with soap or soap and soda shall not be assessed for natural-white and bleached products.

Color fastness to transfer in joints shall be assessed for products spliced with dark- and light-colored fabrics.

5.2.3 Pilling shall be assessed only on the face side of products; with brushed

or raised face shall not be assessed for pilling.

5.2.4 Bursting strength shall not be assessed for elastic fabrics, hollow-out fabrics, striped-draw fabrics, burnt-out fabrics and other similar products (elastic fabrics refer to products incorporated with elastic fibers or rib fabrics).
