Fire protection features in nuclear power plants are the subject of NB/T 25045-2015, a recommended standard of the Chinese energy industry. It lays down the basic principles for assessing the performance of those features and for supervising them through the operating cycle of the plant.

The systems it addresses are the automatic fire alarm system, the extinguishing systems, smoke control, passive fire protection structures and other auxiliary systems inside the plant control area gate.

Where it gives no specific assessment or supervision method, the principles and methods it establishes are to be carried over to that work. It quotes a long list of fire safety and design codes, among them GB 16806, GB 25201, GB 50016, GB 50116, GB 50166-2007, GB 50745, EJ/T 1082 and NB/T 20146. Issued on 1 July 2015, it has applied since 1 December 2015.
