Scope

GB 15631-2008 is the English-translated version of 特种火灾探测器.

GB 15631 covers the fire detectors that fall outside the ordinary smoke and heat categories: point-type infrared flame detectors, aspirating smoke detection systems, image-based detectors and carbon monoxide fire detectors. For each it sets the technical requirements and the sensitivity, then a common battery of environmental tests - temperature, humidity, corrosion, vibration, shock and electromagnetic immunity - followed by the inspection rules and marking, with normative annexes on the gas test apparatus and the sensors. It is replaced by GB 12791-2025 from 1 November 2026. Issued on 1 September 2008, in force since 1 May 2009, replacing GB 15631-1995. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the edition it replaces are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are not reproduced on this page - they are in the document itself, which is delivered in full in English translation.
