JB/T 9179.2-2013 was issued by MIIT on 31 December 2013 and has been in force since 1 July 2014.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 9179.2-1999.
It is one of 15 parts of the JB/T 9179 series.
2 Scope
This standard is the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard covering round shafts, square shafts and pieces of rectangular cross-section forged open-die on a hydraulic press, for which it gives the machining allowances and tolerances. Round-section pieces whose length is at least equal to their diameter are among the forgings it treats. The figures it carries fix the surplus metal for machining and the permitted variation on the forged size. It falls under Chinese classification J32 and international classification 77.140.85. It quotes JB/T 9179.1-2013. It takes the place of JB/T 9179.2-1999.
