Scope
GB/T 8018-2015 is the English-translated version of 汽油氧化安定性的测定 诱导期法.
GB/T 8018-2015 specifies the method for determining the oxidation stability of gasoline under accelerated oxidation conditions by measuring the induction period.
Clause 1 applies the standard to motor gasoline, to ethanol gasoline blending components of oil and to ethanol gasoline and other such products, and a note sends another way of assessing the oxidation stability of gasoline to SH/T 0585.
Clause 3 defines the turning point, the point on the pressure against time curve before which the pressure drop in 15 min has reached 14 kPa and after which the pressure drop in 15 min is not less than that figure, and the induction period, the time in minutes from placing the oxygen bomb in the 100 degrees Celsius bath to the turning point.
Clause 4, headed Summary, states the course of the test: the sample is oxidized in an oxygen bomb, which is first charged with oxygen to 690 kPa to 705 kPa at 15 to 25 degrees Celsius and then heated at 98 to 102 degrees Celsius, with the pressure read at set intervals or recorded continuously until the turning point is reached, and the induction period measured at the test temperature serves to calculate the induction period at 100 degrees Celsius.
The draft stops at the end of clause 4, so the later clauses are not shown and the page carries no table of contents, but the foreword points to a clause 5 on the method, a clause 8 on sampling, 10.2 on the conditions for stopping the test, 12.1 on reporting the result as a whole number with 12.2 and 12.3 for a test stopped before the turning point appears, a clause 13 on precision, an Appendix A covering the oxygen bomb and its accessories, the pressure relief valve, the oxidation bath and the choice of thermometer, and a new informative Appendix B. The standard is a modified redrafting of ASTM D525-12a, and the foreword lists the differences, among them the extension of the scope to ethanol gasoline and its blending components, purity levels fixed for toluene, acetone and oxygen, the addition of a 50 mL graduated cylinder to the instruments, sampling in the dark for manganese-containing gasoline samples, and an added warning on the safe use of strong oxidants such as chromic acid; the move to SI units with the imperial units removed and the toluene precautions written into 7.1 are listed instead among the changes against the 1987 edition.
A warning placed before clause 1 states that applying the standard may involve hazardous materials, operations and equipment without covering all the related safety problems, and leaves the user to establish appropriate safety and health practices and to judge the applicability of regulatory limits.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 514-2005, GB/T 4756, GB/T 20878-2007, ASTM E1 and the IP standard thermometer specifications. It replaces GB/T 8018-1987, was issued on 2015-12-31 and has applied since 2016-06-01.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.
This standard replaces GB/T 8018-1987 "Determination of oxidation stability of gasoline (induction period method)" This standard GB/T 8018-1987 Compared to the main changes are as follows.
--- Standard name from "Determination of oxidation stability of gasoline (induction period method)" was changed to measuring the induction period "of the oxidation stability of gasoline law";
--- To increase the "scope" section (see Chapter 1);
--- SI units, remove the imperial units, such as pressure is measured in kilopascals (kPa), the temperature in degrees Celsius (°C);
--- Added "Normative references" (see Chapter 2);
--- Turning point for the definition of the description made changes and 13.8kPa modify 14kPa (see 31, 1987, version 2.1.);
--- Added "Method" (see Chapter 5);
--- On the thermometer more options (see 62, 1987, version 3.2.);
--- Of toluene purity requirement was amended, the "chemically pure" to "analytical grade or purity >=99%" (see 7.1, 1987 edition 4.1);
--- Increased the oxygen purity requirements "pure oxygen, or purity >=99.6%" (see 7.4);
--- An increase of Chapter 8 sample content;
--- The cleaning liquid detergent choose to rewrite the text from the comment section, and washing steps and requirements has been modified (see 9.1,1987 In version 5.1);
--- For sample loading sequence has been modified (see 101, 1987 version 6.1.);
--- Pressure conditions were changed as 7kPa instead of 6.89kPa, 14kPa instead of 13.8kPa, 690kPa ~ 705kPa replaced 689kPa (or 689kPa ~ 703kPa) and so on (see Chapter 10 and Appendix A, 1987 edition of Chapter 6 and Appendix A);
--- Pressure release rate was amended to require "the release time of less than 2min" (see 10.1 and 10.4, and 6.1 of the 1987 edition 6.4);
--- Complements the termination of the test conditions (see 10.2);
--- Oxygen bomb cooling methods were more detailed requirements (see 10.4);
--- Calculation expression induction period had been revised (see 112, 1987 version 7.1 and 7.2.);
--- The report was amended to require the measurement results taken integer value (see 12.1, Chapter 9, 1987 edition). If the test is stopped When the turning point was not observed in case of the test reporting requirements see 12.2 and 12.3;
--- On precision requirements was amended to supplement the applicable conditions (see 131, Chapter 8, 1987 edition.);
--- To increase the "standard deviation has not been determined" (see 13.2);
--- Appendix A.1 oxygen bomb and related accessories Figure A.1 have changed, more length requirement is a range. Oxygen bomb materials provided Appendix A.3 --- there are changes to a glass vial and cap size requirements, a range of values greater length requirements (see A.3 and Figure A.2 and Legend, 1987 edition of A.3 and A.2);
--- Appendix A increased the pressure relief valve of claim (see A.5);
