Scope
GB/T 47373-2026 is the English-translated version of 汽油中清净剂的检测技术规范.
GB/T 47373-2026 is the Chinese national specification for checking whether a gasoline contains the detergent it is supposed to contain.
It sets out one direct test item, the detergent content measured by high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry or by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry, and two indirect ones, the unwashed gum content per GB/T 8019 and the detergency measured either by a simulation method (nozzle mass flow rate loss per GB/T 19230.3 and simulated intake valve deposits per GB/T 37322) or by a bench method per GB/T 19230.5 or GB/T 19230.6; it adds rapid infrared checks on the detergent product itself, two methods for judging whether the dose added is sufficient, the testing procedure and the inspection report.
It applies to automotive gasoline and ethanol gasoline, and to detergent products. Issued on 30 April 2026, it has applied since 1 November 2026.

4 Test Items and Methods for Detergents in Gasoline
4.1 Overview
The testing items for detergents in gasoline include direct testing items and indirect testing items.
a) The direct testing item is the determination of the detergent content in gasoline, including the following two testing methods.
1) High-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry;
2) Ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry.
b) Indirect testing items include.
1) Gasoline unwashed gum content;
2) Gasoline detergency. including simulation test method and bench test method.
When it is necessary to determine the compliance of the amount of detergent added in gasoline, such as in a gasoline supervision and spot check, direct testing items can be used, i.e., sampling... The detergent was qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry or ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry, and the detergent addition level was determined accordingly.
Whether the amount of detergent added to the gasoline used for vehicle repair is up to standard.
When the gasoline and detergent sources are stable, and the gasoline supplier conducts internal quality control, the presence of unwashed gum in the gasoline can be measured.
The detergent properties were assessed, and the amount of detergent added to the gasoline was determined by comparing the results with previous stable test results.
4.2 Determination of Detergent Content in Gasoline by High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry
The detergent content in gasoline was determined according to Appendix A, and the product mass concentration of detergent in gasoline (rhoLC-MS) or detergent content was reported. Main agent mass concentration (rho*LC-MS).
4.3 Determination of Detergent Content in Gasoline by Ultraviolet-Vis Spectrophotometry
The detergent content in gasoline shall be determined according to Appendix B, and the product mass concentration (rhoUV) of the detergent in gasoline or the detergent main component shall be reported. Mass concentration (rho*UV).
4.3 Report the product mass concentration (rhoUV) of the detergent or the mass concentration (rho*UV) of the detergent main component, and compare the content determination value with the target detergent determination value.
The value is compared with the theoretical value. If the results are consistent, the detergent sample is judged to meet the requirements.
6.Evaluation Method for the Compliance of Detergent Addition Amount in Gasoline
4.4 Unwashed gum content in gasoline
The content of unwashed gum in gasoline was determined according to GB/T 8019.
4.5 Gasoline detergency
4.5.1 Simulation Test Method
4.5.1.1 The nozzle mass flow rate loss rate shall be determined in accordance with GB/T 19230.3.
4.5.1.2 The mass of simulated intake valve deposits was determined according to GB/T 37322. Whether automotive ethanol gasoline (E10) can be determined according to GB / T37322 determines the mass of deposits on a simulated intake valve, and the judgment is made in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 37322.
4.5.2 Bench Test Method
The increase rate of average intake valve deposit mass and total combustion chamber deposit mass shall be determined in accordance with GB/T 19230.5 or GB/T 19230.6. Measurement.
5 Rapid Determination Method for Detergent Products
This document specifies the testing items, test methods, detergent addition compliance evaluation methods, testing procedures, and testing procedures for detergents in gasoline. Inspection report.
This document applies to the testing of detergents in automotive gasoline and ethanol gasoline. It also applies to the testing of detergent products.
5.1 Overview
When detergent manufacturers, users, or quality inspection departments require quality control of detergent products, in addition to adopting the methods specified in GB 19592, In addition to legal methods, the methods specified in this chapter can be used to conduct rapid analysis of detergent products, quickly understanding the product quality from the perspective of ingredients.
5.2 Infrared Spectroscopy
Perform infrared spectral analysis on the detergent product according to Appendix C, report the spectrum, and compare the test sample with the target product to be judged for consistency.
The similarity scores of the detergent spectra are compared, and a similarity score closer to 1 indicates better compatibility between the two samples. A pre-set threshold can be used as a reference. Determine its compliance.
5.3 High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry
The detergent product was added to the base gasoline according to the nominal dosage, and the detergent was determined according to 4.2 using high performance liquid chromatography-100%.
Mass spectrometry is used for qualitative analysis to determine whether the type of the detergent's main component matches the nominal type. When the type of the detergent's main component matches the nominal type... If compliant, according to 4.2, report the detergent product mass concentration (rhoLC-MS) or detergent main agent mass concentration (rho*LC-MS), and compare the content determination value with the target concentration.
The measured value of the detergent is compared with the theoretical value. If the results are consistent, the detergent sample is judged to meet the requirements.
5.4 Ultraviolet-Visible Spectrophotometry
The detergent product was added to the base gasoline according to the nominal dosage, and the detergent was tested according to 4.3 using ultraviolet spectroscopy.
Qualitative analysis is used to determine whether the type of the detergent's main component matches the nominal type. […]
6.1 Nominal Dosage Method
The gasoline product was evaluated according to the nominal dosage of the gasoline detergent, based on the mass concentration of the detergent product in gasoline as described in Chapter 4.
The nominal dosage of the detergent product is calculated using (rhoLC-MS or rhoUV) and is provided by the detergent supplier.
Calculate the detergent additive level in gasoline using formula (1) or formula (2) (fLC-MS or fUV). If fLC-MS >= 1 or fUV >= 1, If 1, then the amount of detergent added to the gasoline is deemed acceptable.
6.2.2 Minimum Dosage Method for Gasoline Containing Different Types of Main Agents
Gasoline should use a single detergent product to ensure its detergency. When the gasoline supplier changes the detergent product, or the detergent... If the product contains different types of main agents, there may be a mixture of different detergent main agents. The detergent amount should be calculated according to formula (7) or formula (8).
The main agent addition level is f*LC-MS or f*UV. If f*LC-MS>=1 or f*UV>=1, the amount of detergent added in the gasoline is considered to be qualified.
The selection of testing items and procedures for detergents in gasoline, as well as the selection of rapid testing methods and procedures for detergent products, are all based on... This will be conducted as needed. The testing procedures for gasoline and detergent products are detailed in Appendix D. The guidelines for detergent management are detailed in Appendix E.
7 Testing Process
8 Test Report
The test report should include the following.
a) Sample number and sample type.
b) The test methods used and the corresponding test results. If multiple test methods are used, refer to Chapter 4 or Chapter 5. The reports will be presented in the following order.
c) Gasoline detergent addition level. d) Test date.
