Scope
GB/T 6988.1-2024 is the English-translated version of 电气技术用文件的编制 第1部分:规则.
GB/T 6988.1-2024 sets the Chinese rules for preparing the documents used in electrotechnology: the circuit diagrams, connection diagrams, location drawings, item lists, terminal diagrams and the rest of the document set that accompanies any electrical installation, machine or system. It is the Chinese counterpart of IEC 61082-1, and it is the standard that decides what a Chinese electrical drawing looks like and how it is to be read, which makes it unusually useful to anyone receiving Chinese electrical documentation. It sets the principles governing a complete set of documents, the rules for representing information, the document types, and then the detailed drawing rules: the diagram itself over thirty-five pages, covering the layout, the representation of items and connections, the signal flow and the reference designations; the figures; the forms; the tables; the composition of a document, its fields, title block and continuation; and the conformity requirements for CAx systems, which matter because these documents are now produced by software rather than by hand. A normative annex gives the method for creating symbols for objects not covered by IEC 60617. It takes effect on 1 April 2025.

This document establishes general rules and guidelines for the presentation of information in electrical technical documents and for diagrams, graphs and tables used in electrical technology. Specialized rules are provided. This document does not include rules and guidelines for producing various audio, video, or tactile presentations. This horizontal document is intended primarily for use by technical committees when preparing standards based on the rules for preparing standards in IEC Guide 108. It is the responsibility of the Technical Committee to use horizontal documents when preparing publications, unless the publication specifically states that they are not applicable or that this horizontal document is not applicable. The contents of the file are not applicable.
