Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document supersedes GB/T 18656-2002 "Identification of Terminals in Industrial Systems, Apparatus and Equipment and Industrial Product Systems", and is consistent with...

Compared with GB/T 18656-2002, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

---The terms "component," "identifier," and "object designation" have been added. All terms reference IEC 81346-1, second edition (see sections 3.6, 3.7, and 3.8).

3.12);

---A more comprehensive description of the principles for terminal designation is provided (see 4.1, 2002 edition of 4.1);

---Example of terminal designation for the position face (see 4.4);

---A design example of the terminal code set has been added (see 4.5);

---The content of the original Appendix A has been moved to the main text (see Chapter 5).

This document adopts IEC 61666:2021 "Identification of terminals within industrial systems, apparatus and equipment and industrial product systems".

The following minimal editorial changes have been made to this document.

---The normative reference IEC 81436-1, which was not cited in the text, has been removed.
