Scope

GB/T 36296-2018 is the English-translated version of 遥感产品真实性检验导则.

GB/T 36296-2018 is a guide to validating remote sensing products, that is, checking how closely a product agrees with objective reality and analysing its uncertainty by an independent method.

It covers the objects to be validated, the reference objects, the accuracy and uncertainty evaluation indicators, the basic requirements and the validation methods: direct validation, and indirect validation by cross-comparison, forward model simulation and temporal and spatial trend analysis.

It ends with the content of the validation report, and informative annexes give the calculation of the indicators, sample selection and a sample report. Terms such as true value, relative true value and accepted reference value are defined.

It is meant for producers and users of remote sensing data, inversion and application products. It was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the inspection objects, reference objects, basic requirements, evaluation indicators, and inspection methods for the authenticity inspection of remote sensing products.

Universality (general) norms and principles for authenticity testing of remote sensing products.

This standard applies to the universal authenticity test of remote sensing products.

2 Normative references

The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only dated versions apply to this document. For undated references, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and Definitions

The definitions of GB/T 3358.1-2009, GB/T 3358.2-2009, JJF1059.1-2012, and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Remote sensing products

Products obtained through remote sensing and produced to meet specific needs, including data obtained from remote sensing sensors, model inversion The results of the parameters arrived, and the results of applications that meet industry application requirements after further processing at a higher level.

Note 1. According to the physical meaning of product value, remote sensing products can be divided into numerical remote sensing products and category remote sensing products.

Note 2. According to the production sequence of the products and the user's needs, they can be divided into remote sensing data products, remote sensing inversion products, and remote sensing applications.

3.2 Verification of validity

An independent method is used to evaluate the degree of agreement between the remote sensing product to be inspected and the objective reality and analyze the process of its uncertainty.

3.3 True value

Under certain conditions, the remote sensing product is theoretically objective and does not have any actual error.

Note: This value is an ideal value and usually cannot be obtained exactly. It can only be accurately obtained if all the causes of the error can be eliminated.

3.4 Relative true value

A value close to the true value, the difference between it and the true value is negligible. This can be used instead of the true value for a given purpose.

3.5 Accepted referenced value

Used as a standard value for the agreed-upon comparison. [GB/T 3358.2-2009, definition 3.2.7]
