Scope

GB/T 41536-2022 is the English-translated version of 土地覆被遥感产品真实性检验.

GB/T 41536-2022 sets out how the truthfulness of a land cover remote sensing product is checked, fixing the basic requirements, the inspection methods and the inspection report.

The direct method is given step by step, with the choice of validation level, the sampling design, the acquisition of reference data, spatial scale conversion, accuracy evaluation and uncertainty analysis; the indirect method adds the processing of reference data.

For the report it lists the cover information, the description of the product and of the reference data, the method and process followed, the conclusion and a summary table.

Three informative annexes give the accuracy and uncertainty indices computed from an error matrix and from a fuzzy error matrix, and a sample report. It cites GB/T 36296-2018 and GB/T 39468-2020, was issued on 11 July 2022 and has applied since 1 February 2023.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

Introduction

Land cover is the surface cover of natural and artificial vegetation and buildings/structures that can be observed directly or through remote sensing, which reflects the climate.

The impact of climate change and human activities on the earth's surface is the basis for natural asset accounting, land surface process models, atmospheric models, and eco-hydrological models.

It has important application value in land resource management, weather forecast and global change research.

At present, through the development and use of classification methods, remote sensing images are processed in series, from local to global, various land cover remote sensing products a steady stream of production. Due to the complexity of land cover classification, there are many uncertainties in these products, which will affect the production of land cover remote sensing product application. Formulate scientific and standardized test standards for the authenticity of land cover remote sensing products, standardize the authenticity test of land cover remote sensing products, It is beneficial to comprehensively and objectively evaluate its accuracy and uncertainty, thereby promoting the improvement of the quality of land cover remote sensing products and promoting its quantitative application.

1 Scope

This document specifies the basic requirements, inspection methods and inspection reports for the authenticity inspection of land cover remote sensing products.

This document is applicable to the authenticity inspection of land cover remote sensing products.

2 Normative references

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated citations documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 36296-2018, GB/T 39468-2020 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Land cover

Surface cover such as natural and artificial vegetation and buildings/structures that can be observed directly or by means of remote sensing. [Source: GB/T 19231-2003, 3.1.5, with modifications]

3.2 Classification system

According to certain application goals, land cover (3.1) is divided into a system composed of non-overlapping and contradictory types, which are type names, types A collection of information such as encodings, type definitions, etc.

3.3 Validation level

The classification of direct inspection methods according to the level of detail of inspection.

3.4 Single-type classification data

Each cell represents only one type of land cover classification data or dataset.

3.5 Multi-type proportion classification data

Each cell represents land cover classification data or datasets for multiple types of proportions.

Note: The pixel value is between 0 and 1.

3.6 Land cover remote sensing product series

A collection of land cover remote sensing products produced in the same area at different times under the same technical design requirements. [Source: GB/T 18316-2008, 2.2, with modifications]
