Scope

GB/T 41535-2022 is the English-translated version of 气溶胶光学厚度遥感产品真实性检验.

GB/T 41535-2022 lays down how the authenticity of aerosol optical depth remote sensing products is checked. It gives the basic requirements, the inspection method and the content of the inspection report, and applies to aerosol optical depth products retrieved from satellite remote sensing data.

Three informative annexes list the ground observation data available for aerosol optical depth, describe the ground observations themselves and give a sample inspection report.

The document defines atmospheric aerosol, the aerosol extinction coefficient, aerosol optical depth over a path and over the whole atmospheric layer, the aerosol model and the aerosol optical depth remote sensing product, taking several of them from GB/T 31159-2014.

It cites GB/T 36296-2018 and GB/T 39468-2020. It was issued on 11 July 2022 and has applied since 1 February 2023.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

Introduction

Aerosol optical depth is a measure of the attenuation of solar radiation by a relatively stable suspension system formed by liquid or solid particles dispersed in the atmosphere.

A physical measure of degree. Aerosol optical depth is directly related to solar radiation entering the Earth system and can characterize atmospheric mass;

Sol optical depth remote sensing products are of great significance in the research of air quality assessment, air pollution monitoring, atmospheric correction and global change.

This document aims at the common problems in the authenticity inspection of aerosol optical depth remote sensing products.

A set of effective workflows and methods are summarized, taking into account different types of aerosol optical thickness products with different spatial resolutions The specific requirements for inspection methods are used to standardize the orderly progress of the authenticity inspection of aerosol optical depth remote sensing products. The facts of this document Shi will strongly promote the quality improvement and quantitative application of aerosol optical depth remote sensing products.

1 Scope

This document specifies the basic requirements, inspection methods and inspection reports for the authenticity inspection of aerosol optical depth remote sensing products.

This document is applicable to the authenticity verification of aerosol optical depth remote sensing products retrieved from satellite remote sensing data.

2 Normative references

The contents of the following documents constitute essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated citations documents, only the version corresponding to that date applies to this document; for undated references, the latest edition (including all amendments) applies to this document.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 36296-2018, GB/T 39468-2020 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Atmospheric aerosol

A relatively stable suspension system formed by liquid or solid particles dispersed in the atmosphere. [Source: GB/T 31159-2014, 2.1]

3.2 Aerosol extinction coefficient

A physical quantity that characterizes the degree of attenuation of radiant energy caused by atmospheric aerosols.

Note: The value is equal to the sum of the aerosol scattering coefficient and absorption coefficient, and the commonly used units are per meter (m-1) and per kilometer (km-1). [Source: GB/T 31159-2014, 4.10]

3.3 Aerosol optical depth

The sum of the aerosol extinction coefficients on a certain path, the dimension is 1. [Source: GB/T 31159-2014, 4.11]

3.4 Whole-layer atmospheric aerosol optical depth

The sum of the aerosol extinction coefficients in the vertical path from the ground to the upper atmosphere, the dimension is 1. [Source: GB/T 31159-2014, 4.12]

3.5 Aerosol model

Mathematical representation of aerosol types, spectral distributions, and physical and chemical properties of aerosol particles.

3.6 Aerosol optical depth remote sensing product

A general term for the entire layer of atmospheric aerosol optical depth datasets, auxiliary datasets and metadata datasets produced from remote sensing image data.
