GB/T 2694-2018 covers the manufacture of steel towers for power transmission lines, in particular angle steel towers, and can also be used as a reference for power microwave towers, power communication towers and similar steel structures.
It sets the requirements for materials, including steel, welding materials, fasteners and zinc ingots, and for each stage of production: cutting, marking, forming, hole making, root cleaning and beveling, welding, assembly of welded parts, correction, hot dip galvanizing and trial assembly.
It also covers inspection items, sampling plans and judgment rules, packaging, marking, transport and storage, and the documents handed over with the towers, with annexes on test methods for the zinc coating.
It replaces GB/T 2694-2010, was issued on 13 July 2018 and has applied since 1 February 2019.
