Scope
GB/T 23341.1-2018 is the English-translated version of 涡轮增压器 第1部分:一般技术条件.
GB/T 23341.1-2018 is the first part of the Chinese national standard on turbochargers and gives the general requirements for radial and mixed-flow units used on diesel, gasoline and natural gas engines for vehicles, ships, construction, agricultural and forestry machinery, power generation and other purposes.
Axial-flow superchargers are excluded. It defines basic and transformed turbochargers, the benchmark curve, the compressor pressure ratio and the turbine expansion ratio.
It sets matching and manufacturing requirements for impeller blanks, nozzle rings, actuators, cleanliness, assembly and appearance, and the main performance requirements for the compressor and the turbine against their benchmark curves, together with the inspection items, the exit-factory, type and spot inspections, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage.
It replaces GB/T 23341.1-2009, was issued on 6 February 2018 and has applied since 1 September 2018.

This Part is Part 1 of GB/T 23341.
This Part was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Part replaces GB/T 23341.1-2009 "Turbochargers - Part 1: General requirements".
Compared with GB/T 23341.1-2009, in addition to the editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as follows.
- Modify the normative references (see Chapter 2 of this Edition, Chapter 2 of Edition 2009);
- Modify the terms and definitions (see Chapter 3 of this Edition, Chapter 3 of Edition 2009);
- Modify the technical requirements (see Chapter 4 of this Edition, Chapter 4 of Edition 2009);
- Modify the inspection items (see Chapter 5 of this Edition, Chapter 5 of Edition 2009);
- Modify the inspection rules (see Chapter 6 of this Edition, Chapter 5 of Edition 2009).
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 23341 specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, inspection items, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage for the radial and mixed-flow turbochargers (hereinafter referred to as "the supercharger").
This Part applies to the superchargers for internal combustion engines (including diesel engines, gasoline engines, natural gas engines) for vehicles, ships, construction machinery, agricultural and forestry machinery, power generation and other purposes. This Part does not apply to axial-flow superchargers.

3.1 Basic turbocharger
The parent-type supercharger that is newly developed according to the new product R&D program and has been approved.
3.2 Transformed turbocharger
The supercharger that the structure is the same as the basic supercharger, only the through-flow parts or installation and connection dimensions of the compressor or turbine are changed.
3.3 Benchmark curve
The performance curve of the basic turbocharger and its variant turbocharger that is determined when the product is finalized.
3.4 Compressor pressure ratio
The ratio of the total pressure of the compressor outlet gas to the total pressure of the inlet gas.
3.5 Turbine expansion ratio; piT
The ratio of the turbine inlet gas total pressure to the outlet gas static pressure p2.
