Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 22856-2009 "Crepe". Compared with GB/T 22856-2009, the main technical changes are as follows:

--- The scope of application has increased the "silk and tussah crepe processed by mulberry silk and other yarns." (See Chapter 1);

--- Added normative references (see Chapter 2);

--- Added the term "tussah silk" (see 3.6);

--- Removed the term "inherent appearance of the original silk" and "the unique appearance of crepe" (see 3.3,

3.4 of the.2009 edition);

--- Revised "the grade of crepe raw material silk should meet the requirements of the second class and above specified in GB/T 15551." (See 4.2.3,

4.5 of the.2009 edition;

--- Increased tear strength, dry cleaning dimensional change rate, dry cleaning fastness test items, and determined the index value of each level (see Table 1);

--- Added "bad flowers fabrics are not assessed" (see footnote a in Table 1);

--- Adjusted the index value of each level of "appearance point total score limit" (see Table 2, Table 2 of.2009 edition);

1 Scope

GB/T 22856-2018 is the Chinese national standard on gambiered canton silk fabrics, in the field of textile and leather technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 28 December 2018 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 July 2019. This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging and markings of crepe. This standard is applicable to the evaluation of the quality of crepe processed from pure mulberry silk fabric.
