Scope
GB/T 20538.2-2023 is the English-translated version of 基于XML的电子商务业务数据和过程 第2部分:业务信息实体目录.
GB/T 20538.2-2023 is the entity directory behind XML-based electronic commerce messages: the catalogue of business information entities from which such messages are assembled, together with the rules that keep the catalogue coherent. Clause 5 sets out how the entities relate to one another and clause 6 the description attributes each entry carries. Clause 7 is the directory itself, running from Address, Contact and Country through Contract, Consignment, Delivery, Customs declaration form, Goods item, dangerous goods transport, Invoice line, Exchange rate, Credit line and Financial accounts to the certification, evidence, award criteria and framework agreement entries used in tendering. Clause 8 deals with how the directory is maintained and managed. The reason a shared directory exists is that two trading partners each building their own XML messages still have to mean the same thing by consignment or by delivery terms; without one, every pair of parties negotiates its own mapping and the integration cost is paid again at each new counterparty. Part 2 of the GB/T 20538 series, following the ebXML work of UN/CEFACT and OASIS that was adopted as ISO 15000. Aimed at message and schema designers, EDI and e-commerce platform integrators, customs and logistics IT teams, and anyone mapping domestic systems onto international e-business message sets.

1 Scope
This document specifies the information entity relationships, information entity description attributes, and information entity directory of e-commerce business information entities.
This document applies to the design and use of XML-based e-commerce messages and the maintenance and management of business information entities.
