Scope
GB/T 18211-2017 is the English-translated version of 微电机安全通用要求.
GB/T 18211-2017 sets the general safety requirements for electrical micro-machines, meaning control motors to GB/T 7345 and small motors for other uses.
It covers marking, leakage current, dielectric strength, insulation resistance, clearances and creepage distances, construction, mechanical strength, protective earthing, protection, rust resistance, damp resistance, heat deformation, flame retardance, abnormal operation, electromagnetic compatibility and inspection rules.
The terms section defines creepage distance, clearance and the glow wire test method. Compared with the previous edition it adds nameplate content and electromagnetic compatibility, and revises the leakage current parameters and the clearance and creepage distances.
Motor manufacturers and test laboratories use it. It replaces GB 18211-2000, was issued on 29 September 2017 and has applied since 1 April 2018.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 18211-2000 "General requirements for micro-motor safety," and GB/T 18211-2000 compared to the main technical changes as follows.
--- Modify the definition of creepage distance, clearance two terms (see 3.1 and 3.2, 2000 version 3.1 and 3.2);
--- Added nameplate content (see 4.1);
--- Modify the leakage current parameters and detection time (see 5.1 and 5.2, 2000 version 5.1 and 5.2);
--- Modify the clearance and creepage distances (see Chapter 8, 2000 edition Chapter 8);
--- An increase of electromagnetic compatibility project (see Chapter 18).
1 Scope
This standard specifies the micro-motor safety requirements, including signs, leakage current, dielectric strength insulation, insulation resistance, clearances and creepage Distance, structure, mechanical strength, protective earthing, protection, antirust, dampness, heat deformation, flame retardance, abnormal work, electromagnetic compatibility and inspection rule.
This standard applies to the control of motors and other uses of micromotors (hereinafter referred to as motor) GB/T 7345 provisions.
