GB/T 15468-2020 is the English-translated version of 水轮机基本技术条件.

GB/T 15468-2020 is the Chinese national standard on fundamental technical requirements for hydraulic turbines, in the field of energy and heat transfer engineering. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 2 June 2020 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 January 2021. Classification: ICS 27.140, CCS K55. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the issuing body are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are in the document itself, which is delivered complete in English translation.

4.2.1 General requirements for structural design

4.2.1.6 The standard parts and components of hydraulic turbines shall ensure their universality, for example, use runner whose torque is transmitted by friction; nozzles, needles shall be interchangeable.

4.2.1.7 The allowable continuous running time of the turbine, at the maximum runaway speed, shall not be less than the allowable runaway time of the supporting generator. Meanwhile, it shall be ensured that the rotating parts of the turbine NEITHER produces harmful deformation NOR causes collision and damage. Facilities shall be provided to prevent the turbine from exceeding the allowable runaway time.

4.2.1.22 The metal volute of the reaction turbine and the water distribution pipe of the impulse turbine, may be subjected to a pressure test, according to the requirements of the contract.

4.2.2 Working stress and safety factor

4.2.2.7 Unless otherwise specified, where there is no prestressing requirement, the pre-tightening force shall not be less than

2.0 times the maximum working load of the connected object, under normal working conditions and transitional working conditions, which is converted to the axial load of the bolt.

4.3.4 Impulse turbine

4.3.4.1 It shall be possible to assemble, disassemble, replace the runner of the impulse turbine, without disassembling the generator.

4.3.4.2 The runner shall be subjected to dynamic response analysis, to avoid resonance.
