GB/T 14521-2015 is the English-translated version of 连续搬运设备 术语.
China's national terminology standard for continuous handling equipment - the conveyors, elevators and mechanical and pneumatic conveying plant that move bulk material and unit loads continuously rather than in discrete lifts, and which are the circulatory system of a mine, a port, a power station, a cement works and a warehouse alike. It is a large document because the family is: the standard establishes the terms and definitions for continuous handling equipment, and it applies wherever those terms are used in standards, in design and manufacturing documents, in contracts and in technical literature. It names the equipment type by type - the belt conveyor with its idlers, its pulleys, its take-up and its cleaning devices, the chain, apron, scraper and en masse conveyors, the screw conveyor, the bucket elevator, the vibrating and oscillating conveyors, the roller and the overhead conveyors, the pneumatic and hydraulic conveying systems, and the aerial ropeways - together with the components common to them and the ancillary equipment that feeds, weighs, diverts and discharges: the feeders, the chutes and hoppers, the belt weighers, the trippers and ploughs, the tensioning devices and the drives. To those are added the terms of the loads themselves, the bulk material characteristics that decide what equipment can be used at all, and the operating parameters - the capacity, the conveying speed, the lift, the angle of inclination and the power - by which a machine is specified and bought. A terminology standard of this size exists because continuous handling plant is procured by specification and built by several suppliers into one installation, and because a term misunderstood between the designer of the conveyor and the designer of the transfer chute produces spillage, blockage and downtime for the life of the plant. Issued on 10 December 2015 and in force since 1 July 2016, it replaces GB/T 14521.1-1993.

Foreword
This standard replaces GB/T 14521.1 ~ 14521.9-1993 "Terms of conveying machinery." 14521.9-1993 major changes compared to the present standard and GB/T 14521.1 ~ as follows:
--- The GB/T 14521.1 ~ 14521.9-1993 "Transport Machinery term" integration, the standard changed its name to "Continuous mechanical handling technique language";
--- Remove the original standard ropeway section (see 1993 Version 3.1.16);
--- Increasing the definition of rotary belt conveyor (see 3.2.1.11);
--- Increased mining scraper conveyor defined (see 3.2.2.1.3);
--- Increasing the definition of slurry pipeline hydraulic conveyor (see 3.2.8.2);
--- Increased accumulation suspension conveyor defined (see 3.2.9.5);
--- Increased friction drive conveyor suspension definitions (see 3.2.9.6);
--- Increased monorail overhead conveyors definition (see 3.2.9.7);
--- Increased two-track overhead conveyors definition (see 3.2.9.8);

This standard specifies the basic terminology continuous mechanical handling major types, parameters, and the main apparatus and components. This standard applies to transport machinery, handling machinery and feed machinery.

3 Main types of continuous Handling
