1 Scope This document defines the relevant terms and definitions of millet, and stipulates the quality requirements, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, storage and other aspects of millet. and transportation requirements, and describes the corresponding inspection methods. 3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 22515, GB/T 26631 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Ji proso millet (non-glutinous) The caryopsis of cultivated millet (Panicum miliaceum L.), a herbaceous plant of the Poaceae family.

Note. The seed coat is yellow, the grains are translucent and shiny, and the rice is japonica in texture.

3.2 Test weight The mass of millet grains per unit volume.

Note. Expressed in grams per litre (g/L).

3.3 Defective kernel Millet grains that are damaged but still have use value. Note

1.Includes insect-damaged grains, diseased grains, sprouted grains and moldy grains. Note

2.Insect-bored kernels refer to kernels that have been damaged by insects, with the embryo or endosperm damaged. Note

3.Diseased kernels (mottled kernels) refer to kernels with spots on the surface that damage the embryo or endosperm.

Note 4: A sprouted kernel is a kernel whose bud or root breaks through the seed coat and whose length does not exceed that of the kernel itself.
