GB 21551.6-2010 is the English-translated version of 家用和类似用途电器的抗菌、除菌、净化功能 空调器的特殊要求.
GB 21551.6-2010 is Part 6 of the GB 21551 series and specifies the hygiene requirements, test methods and marking of household and similar room air conditioners with antibacterial, bacteria elimination and indoor air cleaning functions; it is used together with GB 21551.1-2008 and all its technical content is mandatory.
The air conditioner may not emit more than 0.10 mg/m3 of ozone at 5 cm from the outlet, 5 µW/cm2 of ultraviolet radiation at 5 cm from the device, 0.15 mg/m3 of TVOC or 0.07 mg/m3 of PM10 at 20 cm from the outlet; antibacterial parts must meet GB 21551.2-2010, and cleaning materials must be replaceable or regenerable.
Functionally, it must reach an antibacterial (bacteria elimination) rate of at least 50% after 1 h in a simulated field test, and a cleaning efficiency of at least 40% for PM10 or at least 25% for formaldehyde, ammonia and benzene.
Test methods refer to GB/T 18883-2002 (ozone, TVOC, formaldehyde, ammonia, benzene), WS/T 206 (PM10), GB 21551.3-2010 (bacteria elimination) and the Technical Standard for Disinfection (ultraviolet leakage); the marking clause sets when the wordings "antibacterial, bacteria elimination" and "air cleaning function" may be used.
