Scope
GB 21551.3-2010 is the English-translated version of 家用和类似用途电器的抗菌、除菌、净化功能 空气净化器的特殊要求.
GB 21551.3-2010 is Part 3 of GB 21551, used together with GB 21551.1-2008, and specifies the hygienic requirements, test methods and marking of indoor air cleaners with regard to their antibacterial and bacteria-removal functions; it applies to household and similar air cleaners with a bacteria-removal function.
Air cleaners shall meet the hygienic safety requirements of GB 21551.1-2008 and limit the harmful substances they generate to ozone <= 0.10 mg/m3 at 5 cm from the outlet, ultraviolet intensity <= 5 µW/cm2 at 30 cm, TVOC <= 0.15 mg/m3 and PM10 <= 0.07 mg/m3 at 20 cm, measured by the methods of GB/T 18883-2002, GB 19258 and WS/T 206.
Functionally, the antibacterial (bacteria-removal) rate after 1 h of operation shall be at least 50%, antibacterial materials shall meet GB 21551.2-2010, and purification materials shall be replaceable or regenerable; marking follows Clause 5 of GB 21551.1-2008.
Normative Annex A describes the simulated field test in a pair of 30 m3 aerosol chambers with Staphylococcus albus 8032, the test time formula, sampling and incubation, and the calculation of the bacteria-removal rate corrected for natural decay.
