Scope

GB 19079.4-2025 is the English-translated version of 体育场所开放条件与技术要求 第4部分:攀岩场所.

GB 19079.4-2025, Part 4 of the GB(/T) 19079 series on the opening of sports venues, sets the operating conditions and technical requirements for sport climbing venues open to the public.

It covers the qualifications of personnel, site and facility conditions (climbing wall design and installation, effective height of bouldering walls, bolt hangers for lead climbing, wall panels, screw holes, edges and gaps, top-rope protection points on natural rock, protection ropes and safety equipment for each climbing discipline, entrance, evacuation and directional signage), environmental management including night-time lighting, and safety assurance rules, emergency plans, inspections, monitoring and public liability insurance.

Three normative annexes give the test methods for load-bearing capacity, the impact resistance of wall panels and the axial tensile resistance of screw holes (hold holes).

It replaces GB 19079.4-2014, deleting the route width and the static and dynamic panel load requirements and adding the new test methods and the requirements on signage, lighting, equipment storage, periodic inspections and insurance.

Issued on 31 December 2025 and in force from 1 July 2026. Classification: ICS 97.220.10, CCS Y55. The document runs to 19 pages, delivered complete in English translation.
