1 Scope

GB/T 22517.8-2024 is the Chinese national standard on technical requirements and test methods for sports field - part 8: ice rink, in the field of domestic and commercial equipment, entertainment, sport. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 23 August 2024 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 March 2025. Classification: ICS 97.220.10, CCS Y55. This document specifies the general requirements and venue specifications for sports ice rinks, describes the corresponding inspection methods, and establishes the rules for determining eligibility. This document is applicable to the use and inspection of natural material sports ice rinks for competitions, and can be used as a reference for sports ice rinks for other purposes.
