Scope
QC/T 29106-2014 is the English-translated version of 汽车电线束技术条件.
QC/T 29106-2014 is the Chinese automotive industry specification for vehicle wire harnesses, including single-wire assemblies, with a nominal voltage below 60 V. It sets requirements for appearance, harness dimensions and taping, the connection of terminals to wires by crimping, waterproofing of rubber parts and resistance to low temperature, high temperature and temperature change.
Test methods cover dimensional checks, crimp connection strength, water immersion of junctions in wet areas and spray testing of rubber seals, followed by inspection rules and marking, packaging and storage.
Normative annexes deal with crimp cross-sections and with the heat-shrinkable double-wall tubes, pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and bellows used on harnesses.
It replaces QC/T 29106-2004. Issued on 6 May 2014, it has applied since 1 October 2014.

3 Terms and Definitions
Those listed below and the definitions in QC/T 417.1-2001 are adopted in this Standard.
3.1 Main Stem
A portion of a wire harness in which two or more wires are taped together, as shown in Figure 1.
3.2 Branch
A portion of a wire harness in which the ends of the wires are not taped or a single wire, as shown in Figure 1.
3.3 Branch point
The intersection of main stem and main stem or main stem and lateral center line in the wire harness, as shown in Figure 1.
3.4 Juncture
The connection point of wire and wire, as shown in Figure 1.
3.8 Clip
A component mounted on a wire harness for fixing with a vehicle body or other corresponding components.
3.9 Dry area
The area which requires no special waterproofing treatment because a wire harness is installed in cab, compartment, trunk or other parts.
