Scope
QC/T 950-2019 is the English-translated version of 汽车座椅加热垫技术要求和试验方法.
QC/T 950-2019 covers heated seat cushions for cars and specifies technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and packaging. It replaces QC/T 950-2013 and applies to cushions for car seats in 12V or 24V electrical systems.
Clause 4 holds the resistance of the cushion within plus or minus 10 percent of the specified value, sets operating and storage temperature ranges of -40 degrees C to 65 degrees C and -40 degrees C to 85 degrees C, and limits the burning rate to 100 mm/min, or 70 mm/min for passenger cars.
Insulation resistance must be at least 5.0 megohms, measured at DC 500V.
From 0 degrees C ambient and on the highest setting, the seat surface must reach at least 30 degrees C within 5 minutes and saturate within 15 minutes, holding a steady state within plus or minus 5 degrees C of the set temperature with an automatic thermostat or plus or minus 2 degrees C with a temperature control unit, and the spread across measurement points must not exceed 5 degrees C. With the control unit short-circuited and the cushion run for 2 hours at rated voltage, no point on the seat surface may exceed 85 degrees C. Endurance requires 5000 simulated knee pressure cycles per point, 100000 bump cycles on the cushion and 50000 on the backrest, and 50000 bending cycles per point at 0.5 to 1 Hz, after which the resistance change stays within plus or minus 10 percent with no hot spots on a thermal imager.

Pour 1.0 L of clean water, at the main heating zone of the heating unit, at a rate of 2.0 L/min. After standing for 24 hours at room temperature to dry, test the performance of the heating cushion.
Liquid resistance (liquid flooding test): Lay the heating cushion flat in a plastic container. Cover the heating cushion with a non-woven fabric of about 2 mm. Pour 200 mL of 5% NaCl aqueous solution (light brine) and cleaning solution, at the main heating zone of the heating unit, at a rate of 1.0 L/min. After standing for 24 hours at room temperature to dry, test the performance of the heating cushion.
5.18 Adhesion performance test
Paste and fix the seat heating cushion on the seat foam. Place a 42 kg seat soft counterweight load, which has a bottom area of 300 mm x 400 mm, along the center line of the seat cushion. After bearing pressure for 24 hours at room temperature, slowly peel off the heating cushion from the foam, at a speed of less than 50 mm/min. Test the adhesion force.
5.19 Flexural resistance test
At room temperature, measure the resistance of the seat heating cushion. After the measurement, fix the heating cushion on the test platform (the test platform is composed of drive, control equipment, movable horizontal sliding bench).
When fixing, it must be ensured that a heating wire is arranged at the bending point position, meanwhile the number of bending points also depends on the heating area. See Figure 6 and Figure 7 for details. After fixing, the heating cushion is bent, at a frequency of 0.5 ~ 1 Hz; each bending point is subject to 50000 bending cycles. During each bending cycle, the heating cushion moves 50 mm horizontally along the sliding bench. After the test, measure the heating unit; use an infrared thermal imager to perform imaging detection of the heating cushion.
