Scope

NB/T 11460-2023 is the English-translated version of 矿用瞬变电磁超前探测仪技术条件.

NB/T 11460-2023 lays down technical conditions for transient electromagnetic advance detectors, instruments used for advance detection in coal mines. It covers naming, composition and classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage.

Defined quantities include the transmitting current and the turn-off time, the interval in which the current drops from 100% to 10% of its stable value. Tests draw on environmental methods for temperature, damp heat, impact and vibration, on flameproof and intrinsically safe protection and on IP enclosure rating.

It supports research, design, production and quality inspection of these instruments. Issued on 28 December 2023, it has applied since 28 June 2024.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Transmitting current

In actual detection operations, when the transient instrument is transmitting, an excitation current is provided to the transmitting wire frame. After the transmitting voltage reaches the set value, The current value recorded when the current is turned off.

3.2 Turn-off time

In actual detection operations, when the transmitting current is turned off, the time interval during which the current intensity drops from 100% of the initial stable current to 10%.

Note: Also called effective ramp step time width.
