Scope

NB/T 11543-2024 is the English-translated version of 煤矿井下钻孔瞬变电磁探测技术规程.

NB/T 11543-2024 sets out how transient electromagnetic surveys are run in boreholes in underground coal mines.

The method sets up a field from a transmitting coil and measures the secondary field after switch-off to find geological anomalies whose resistivity differs from the host rock, with readings taken in a three-component borehole coordinate system.

The document covers general requirements, survey design, data collection, processing and interpretation, report preparation and report review, with a record form in an annex.

In-hole, cross-hole and roadway-to-hole variants of the method all fall within it. Issued on 24 May 2024, it has applied since 24 November 2024.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.

1 Scope

This document specifies the application of transient electromagnetic detection technology in underground coal mine boreholes in construction design, data collection, data processing, data interpretation, and report compilation.

The basic requirements and implementation procedures in the process of system preparation and reporting review.

This document is applicable to transient electromagnetic detection operations in boreholes in coal mines, including in-hole transient electromagnetic method, inter-hole transient electromagnetic method and tunnel transient electromagnetic method. Hole transient electromagnetic method.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Borehole transient electromagnetic method

Borehole transient electromagnetic method is a non-contact method based on the obvious resistivity difference between coal seams, surrounding rocks and potential geological anomalies.

The method is to establish an artificial electromagnetic field in the space around the borehole through a transmitting coil, and measure the induction in the formation after the field disappears in the borehole.

The secondary magnetic field is used to detect geological anomalies. This can be used when there is a discernible electrical difference between the detected anomaly and the background rock. method.

3.2 Borehole coordinate system

The drilling coordinate system consists of three components. A, U, and V. A is the axial component of the drilling, which is positive toward the bottom of the hole, and U is on the vertical plane through the drill hole. The borehole is horizontal and the azimuth is 0°.

When the borehole is drilled, the positive direction of U is vertically downward, and the positive direction of V is eastward. Figure 1 shows the three-component directions of the borehole. Fig.1 Schematic diagram of borehole transient electromagnetic detection coordinate system
