HG/T 3531-2011 is a Chinese chemical industry standard, recommended in status, for the determination of the water content of sludge and corrosion products from industrial circulating cooling water systems. The method applies to deposits taken from such systems, and the moisture content is calculated with reference to the dry sample. Sampling and sample preparation follow HG/T 3530. It takes the place of the earlier edition HG/T 3531-2003, one of a group of methods for sludge and corrosion products revised at the same time. Issued on 20 December 2011, it has applied since 1 July 2012.
