Scope
GB/T 9851.3-2008 is the English-translated version of 印刷技术术语 第3部分: 凸版印刷术语.
GB/T 9851.3-2008 is the Chinese national vocabulary for relief printing, Part 3 of the GB/T 9851 series on graphic technology terminology. It fixes the letterpress terms so that the same professional concepts are used in production, in teaching and in academic work.
It defines relief printing and its direct and indirect forms, flexographic printing, and the equipment that goes with it: stack, central-impression and in-line flexographic presses, corrugated board flexo printing, and the laser-engraved ceramic or metal anilox roller that meters the ink.
Compared with the edition it replaces, 31 obsolete letterpress terms were cancelled, 9 were changed and 20 flexographic terms were added. It is used for drafting printing standards and for publishing, teaching, research and technical exchange.
It replaces GB/T 9851.4-1990, was issued on 2 July 2008 and has applied since 1 December 2008.

Foreword
GB/T 9851 "printed technical term" is divided into seven sections.
Part 1. Basic terminology;
Part 2. Prepress terms;
Part 3. Toppan Printing terminology;
Part 4. lithographic printing terminology;
Part 5. Gravure term;
Part 6. stencil printing terminology;
Part 7. finishing the term.
This part of GB/T 9851 Part 3.
This Part replaces GB/T 9851.4-1990 "printing technology terms - Part 4: Toppan Printing term." This section compared with the GB/T 9851.4-1990 The main changes are as follows.
--- Letterpress printing processes for the obsolete term for a substantial deletion of the flexographic printing related terms will be regarded as an appropriate supplement. Altogether Cancel term 31, modify the terms 9, the new addition of the term 20.
--- Standard structure according to GB/T 1.1-2000 been modified.

1 Scope
This section GB/T 9851 provisions of the letterpress printing terminology to ensure proper production, teaching and academic activities in specialized applications Industry concept.
This section applies to the preparation of the printing industry and related professional standards, publishing, teaching, research and technical exchanges at home and abroad for use.
2 Toppan Printing
2.1 Relief printing
With graphic part is higher than the non-image portion of the printing plate printing method. Divided into direct and indirect letterpress printing letterpress printing. [GB/T 9851.1-2008,5.8]
2.2 Direct relief printing
Direct printing type or stereotype manner.
2.3 Indirect relief printing
Use relief through an intermediate transfer member transferring the ink to the printing on the substrates.
2.4 Flexographic printing
Elastic letterpress printing plate transfers the ink to the printing substrate surface. [GB/T 9851.1-2008,5.10]
3 Flexo equipment
3.2 Flexographic printing press
Flexographic printing machines. It can be divided into. layer rack, satellite, and three kinds of unit type. Mostly reel feed, but unit-type flexographic Machine also has a single formula-feed.
3.3 Corrugated board flexographic printing
Use flexographic corrugated board printing process.
3.4 Anilox roller
Surface formed with network points, net wall as a flexographic printing ink for quantitative transfer roller with metal roller and two laser engraved ceramic anilox Types.
