This document supersedes GB/T 9851.6-2008 "Printing Technology Terminology Part 6: Screen Printing Terminology", and is consistent with GB/T 9851.6- Compared to 2008, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) The scope of the standard has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2008 edition);

b) The chapter title was changed from "Stencil Printing" to "Basic Terminology," and several terms were added, modified, and deleted (see Chapter 3, 2008). Chapter 2 of the edition);

c) The chapter title was changed from "Screen Printing" to "Printing," and several terms were added, modified, and deleted (see Chapter 4, 2008 edition). Chapter 3);

d) The chapter title was changed from "Screen Printing Machine" to "Printing," and several terms were added, changed, and deleted (see Chapter 5, 2008 edition). Chapter 4);

e) The chapter title was changed from "Printing Error" to "Error," and several terms were added, changed, and deleted (see Chapter 6, 2008 edition). Chapter 5);

f) A chapter on "Typical Applications" has been added (see Chapter 7).

Introduction

GB/T 9851, "Terminology for Printing Technology," aims to standardize the expression of printing technology terminology, construct a scientific and unified terminology system, and ensure the accuracy of terminology.

Consistency, logical rigor, and universality of application are key to establishing a set of universally applicable terminology guidelines for the printing technology field, providing a foundation for my country's printing industry.

It provides solid support for the standardization and normalization of industrial development.

The field of printing technology covers a wide range, mainly including.

---Process steps. pre-press processing, printing processing, post-press processing, etc.;

---Printing methods. offset printing, letterpress printing, gravure printing, screen printing, digital printing, etc.;

---Application areas. Book and magazine printing, packaging printing, electronic printing, textile printing, etc.;

---Related materials. Various materials required for the entire printing production process.

Given the complexity of the aforementioned fields, relying solely on a single logic to organize printing technology terminology can easily lead to unclear terminology context and conceptual confusion, making it difficult to... To meet the needs of standardization in the field of printing technology, it is necessary to systematically organize printing technology-related terminology from multiple dimensions to establish standards.

This lays the foundation for scientific compilation. GB/T 9851 is proposed to consist of 9 parts.

---Part 1: Basic Terminology. The purpose is to integrate and organize the fundamental terminology in the field of printing technology, providing a basis for the definitions of terms in other sections. Provides a general basis for use.

---Part 2: Prepress Terminology. The purpose is to integrate and standardize the terminology used in the prepress process.

---Part 4: Letterpress Printing Terminology. The aim is to integrate and standardize the terminology used in letterpress printing technology.

---Part 4: Lithography Terminology. The purpose is to integrate and standardize the terminology used in lithography technology.

---Part 5: Gravure Printing Terminology. The aim is to integrate and standardize the terminology used in gravure printing technology.

---Part 6: Screen Printing Terminology. The aim is to integrate and standardize the terminology used in screen printing technology.

---Part 7: Post-press Terminology. The purpose is to integrate and standardize the terminology used in post-press processes.
