9.Terminology for Book and Periodical Printing This document supersedes GB/T 9851.6-2008 "Printing Technology Terminology Part

6.Screen Printing Terminology", and is consistent with GB/T 9851.6- Compared to.2008, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope of the standard has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2008 edition);

b) The chapter title was changed from "Stencil Printing" to "Basic Terminology," and several terms were added, modified, and deleted (see Chapter 3,.2008). Chapter 2 of the edition);

This document defines the terminology used in stencil printing technology and its applications. This document applies to production, teaching, research, and technical exchange in the field of stencil printing technology and its applications.

3 Basic Terminology

3.1 Printing is a method of creating graphic information on a substrate by passing ink through the stencil area of a printing plate.

3.2 screenprinting Screen printing, where the stencil area of the printing plate is perforated (3.1).

3.3 screen printing The stencil area of the printing plate is formed by screen printing using linear material (3.2).

4 Plate making

4.1 screenmesh A screen printing material (3.2) woven from warp and weft threads with identical openings.

4.1.1 screenmesh count Number of openings in the wire mesh (4.1) per unit length.

4.1.2 The ratio of the elongation of the wire mesh (4.1) when it is stretched to break in the warp or weft direction to its length before stretching.

4.1.3 screen mesh thickness (4.1) The maximum vertical distance between the two surfaces of the wire mesh.

4.1.4 aperture width The larger of the maximum vertical distances between two adjacent warp threads and between two weft threads in a wire mesh (4.1).
