GB/T 7409.3-2026 is the English-translated version of 同步电机励磁系统 第3部分：大、中型同步发电机励磁系统技术要求.

Technical requirements for excitation systems of large and medium synchronous generators are given in Part 3 of this recommended national standard series on excitation systems for synchronous electrical machines. The excitation system supplies the field of a generator and plays a central part in voltage control and stability of power plants. It adopts an international standard.

Generator and excitation equipment manufacturers, power plant designers, utilities, commissioning engineers and test institutes are the readers who will use it. It replaces GB/T 7409.3-2007, so purchase specifications that cite the earlier edition should be brought up to date.

As a GB/T document it is recommended rather than mandatory, although it is often referenced in purchase specifications for power station equipment. It was issued on 30 July 2026 under the responsibility of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association and takes effect on 1 February 2027.
