Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 7407-2015 "Main Maritime Trade Port Codes in China and the World" and is consistent with GB/T 7407-2015.
In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
— 183 domestic ports (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) were added;
— The Chinese or English names of 14 foreign ports were modified;
— Deleted 13 domestic and foreign ports that are obsolete or conflict with GB/T 15514 or UN/LOCODE-2022.2.

1 Scope
This document specifies the coding principles, code structure, code table, and code for major water transport ports and related location codes in China and the world.

This document applies to data exchange and information processing involved in international trade activities.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Port
Ports, airports, stations, cross-border passages, etc. for people, goods, articles and vehicles to enter and exit the country (customs, border).
3.2 Related Locationsotherlocation
In addition to ports, there are places with customs supervision areas where customs formalities can be handled.
4 Preparation principles
4.1 Collection Principles
This standard includes major water transport ports and related locations in China and around the world based on the following basic principles.
— Comprehensive collection of Chinese ports that conduct international trade activities and foreign ports that have trade relations with China;
— Foreign ports whose main function is commercial trade activities are included as much as possible, among which. countries with more developed shipping and more ports are included.
The throughput and berthing capacity of ports are appropriately included in the main ports, and for underdeveloped shipping or small island countries, each country is guaranteed to have at least 1 port included;
— Important river ports and lake ports that can be directly accessed by international container ships are also included;
— Important port areas of China's large ports are also included in this standard.
