Scope

GB/T 40812-2021 is the English-translated version of 集装箱运输电子数据交换 装箱单报文.

GB/T 40812-2021 defines the container stuffing/stripping message, the packing list exchanged electronically in container transport, and applies to container ship transport.

It sets the basic requirements of the message: who sends it (the container freight station, the cargo owner or the freight forwarder) and who receives it, from owners and terminals to tally, shipping agencies, shipping companies and customs, and the information it should give for each container and the cargo loaded in it.

It then gives the extensible markup language (XML) message format, with the overall structure of header, basic ship information, container and cargo information and tail records, and the platform file format with its file structure and record descriptions.

It serves the parties that exchange packing list data in container shipping. It was issued on 11 October 2021 and has applied since 1 May 2022.
