Scope
GB/T 40705-2021 is the English-translated version of 集装箱运输电子数据交换 放箱单报文.
GB/T 40705-2021 defines the electronic data interchange message used in container transport to release containers, called the discharging container message in its English title.
It sets the basic requirements for the message, which shipping companies and shipping agencies send to tally agencies, container yards and stations, container terminals and freight forwarders, and which can replace the paper release list.
It specifies both an extensible markup language (XML) message format and a platform file format. The XML message is built from a header, general transport information, container information and a tail record, the transport part carrying basic vessel data, bill of lading records and locations, and remarks.
Codes follow national standards for containers, countries, ports, dates and times, currencies and shipping routes. It was issued on 11 October 2021 and has applied since 1 May 2022.
