Scope

GB/T 4734-2022 is the English-translated version of 日用陶瓷材料及制品化学分析方法.

GB/T 4734-2022 is the Chinese national collection of chemical analysis methods for domestic ceramic materials and articles.

It gives the determination of loss on ignition, silica, alumina, ferric oxide, titanium dioxide, calcium and magnesium oxide, potassium and sodium oxide, lithium oxide, boron trioxide, zinc oxide, manganous oxide, phosphorus pentoxide and sulfur trioxide, plus an atomic absorption method covering six oxides at once and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, with clauses on sampling, general rules, quality assurance and the test report.

Grade 3 water to GB/T 6682 and analytical-grade reagents are required, constant weight is within 0.0002 g, parallel tests are run and results are rounded to two decimal places.

Appendices C and D fix the XRF measuring ranges and the tolerances on analytical values. It replaces GB/T 4734-1996, was issued on 14 October 2022 and has applied since 1 May 2023.
