HG/T 4279-2011, a recommended chemical industry standard, deals with the support beams used inside chemical equipment towers. It gives the terms and definitions, the specifications, the requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules, and the provisions for marking, packaging, transport and storage. The beams covered are those carrying the packing in tower equipment of the chemical industry, in service where acid corrosion has to be resisted. Material and test requirements are taken from GB/T 8488, GB/T 4734, GB/T 9969 and HG/T 3210. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it alongside the other tower internals standards of the same batch. Issued on 20 December 2011, it has applied since 1 July 2012.
