Scope
GB/T 40851-2021 is the English-translated version of 食用调和油.
GB/T 40851-2021 is the product standard for blended edible oil, meaning an edible oil prepared from two or more single-variety edible vegetable oils.
It sets the quality requirements, starting from the raw materials, each of which must meet the national or industry standard for its own product, and defines proportional consistency: how closely the fatty acid composition measured on the product agrees with the theoretical composition or with that of laboratory-prepared samples.
It also covers the inspection methods, with references to the national methods for fatty acids, acid value, peroxide value, moisture and trans fatty acids, the inspection rules, labelling, packaging, storage, transport and sale, and traceability records.
Oil producers, packers and inspection bodies use it. It was issued on 26 November 2021 and has applied since 1 June 2022.

1 Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, quality requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, storage, and transportation of edible blended oils.
Technical requirements such as export and sales, as well as traceability requirements.
This document is applicable to edible blended oils prepared from two or more single-variety edible vegetable oils as raw materials.

3 Terms and definitions

3.1 Proportional consistency
