Scope
GB/T 19111-2026 is the English-translated version of 玉米油.
GB/T 19111-2026 is the Chinese national standard for maize oil - the oil pressed or solvent-extracted from maize germ, a by-product of starch milling, and one of the four large edible vegetable oils sold in China.
It defines the terms, divides the product into crude maize oil and finished maize oil (and the finished product into pressing and solvent extraction grades), and fixes the relative density and the fatty acid composition that identify the oil, the quality indexes of each grade, the inspection methods, the inspection rules, the labelling and the packaging, storage, transport and sale requirements.
The quality indexes for crude maize oil apply to the trade in crude oil, so the document governs both the bulk shipment and the bottle on the shelf. Annex A gives the total sterol content and its composition in crude maize oil, the figure on which most of the marketing of corn oil rests and the one used when authenticity is in question.
It was issued on 28 January 2026 and has been in force since 1 August 2026, replacing GB/T 19111-2017; it was revised together with the other edible oil standards of the same batch, among them GB/T 1534 for peanut oil, GB/T 1535 for soya bean oil and GB/T 10464 for sunflowerseed oil.
