GB/T 35877-2018 is the English-translated version of 粮油检验 动植物油脂冷冻试验.
GB/T 35877-2018 describes the cold test for animal and vegetable fats and oils. The oil is held at 0 °C for a specified time and then checked for any loss of clarity, which shows how well it resists crystallization and serves as an indicator of winterization and dewaxing.
The standard defines the cold test and lists the apparatus: sealed sample bottles of about 115 mL, a water bath at 25 °C ± 1 °C, a 0 °C ice-water or constant-temperature bath, beakers, thermometers and corks.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, principles, apparatus and utensils, sample preparation, procedures and results of animal and plant fats refrigeration test Said.
This standard applies to animal and plant oils and fats.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Freezing test
In the provisions of the low temperature (0 °C) conditions, the grease is allowed to stand until the specified time, to observe the change in clarity test.
4 Principle
Determination of the ability of the sample to resist crystallization at the specified temperature and time is usually used as an indicator of winterization and fat removal of greases.
5 Instruments and appliances
5.1 oil sample bottle. about 115mL (diameter about 40mm), should be clean, dry, dust-free, with a sealed cover.
5.2 Water bath. temperature 25 °C ± 1 °C.
5.3 0 °C ice water bath (or 0 °C constant temperature water bath). can accommodate 2kg ~ 5kg crushed ice water, and can be sealed with a vial containing the compartment No container.
5.4 Beaker. 500mL.
5.5 Thermometer. -10 °C ± 1 °C ~ 50 °C ± 1 °C and 50 °C ± 2 °C ~ 200 °C ± 2 °C.
