Scope
GB/T 36121-2018 is the English-translated version of 旅居挂车技术要求.
GB/T 36121-2018 sets the Chinese technical requirements for caravans towed by motor vehicles fitted with special towing devices, and camp trailers used as permanent accommodation may also refer to it.
It covers the classification of caravans, the requirements for the finished vehicle, including tracking of the trailer, trafficability and the coupling to the towing vehicle through coupling balls or the No. 50 kingpin, lighting and 7-pole electrical connectors.
It then deals with the special equipment and facilities on board: the carriage and its heat insulation and rain sealing, water supply and drainage with clean and waste water tanks, electrical circuits and insulation, heating appliances and the liquefied petroleum gas system.
Reliability requirements, test methods and inspection rules complete the text for manufacturers and testing bodies. It was issued on 14 May 2018 and has applied since 1 December 2018.
