Scope

GB/T 35613-2024 is the English-translated version of 绿色产品评价 纸和纸制品.

GB/T 35613-2024 is the Chinese green product assessment standard for paper and paper products, part of the series behind the national green product certification mark. Paper is one of the more heavily scrutinised categories in that scheme, because the industry is water and energy intensive, because the fibre supply raises forestry questions, and because so much paper is bought by government and by large institutions that the mark moves real volume. The standard sets the assessment framework and the basic requirements on the producer, then the evaluation indicators: the resource attributes covering fibre sourcing, recycled content, water consumption and yield, the energy attributes, the environmental attributes covering effluent, air emissions, solid waste and the substances in the product itself such as fluorescent whitening agents and the residues relevant to food contact grades, and the quality attributes, each with its limit and its verification method, together with the assessment rules and the required evidence. The 2024 edition replaces GB/T 35613-2017. For a mill seeking certification or a buyer specifying it, this is the criteria text.
