Scope

GB/T 31428-2021 is the English-translated version of 煤化工术语.

GB/T 31428-2021 fixes the vocabulary of coal chemical technology. It defines the terms of the field with their English equivalents: the processes - pyrolysis, gasification, liquefaction, coking - the products and by-products, the equipment and the figures by which a plant is judged.

It applies to the standards, documents, textbooks, books and handbooks of the sector. Coal chemical companies, design institutes and schools use it. It replaces GB/T 31428-2015, was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1. Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.

This document replaces GB/T 31428-2015 "Terminology of Coal Chemical Industry". Compared with GB/T 31428-2015, except for structural adjustment and editorial In addition to the changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Some terms and definitions are deleted, see Appendix A for details;

b) Added some terms and definitions, see Appendix B for details;

c) Some terms and definitions have been changed, see Appendix C for details.

1 Scope

This document defines terms related to coal chemical processes, their English translations and definitions.

This document applies to relevant standards, documents, teaching materials, books and manuals.

2 Normative references

There are no normative references in this document.

3 Basic terms

3.1 Coalchemicaltechnology

Process technology for producing various energy or chemical products using coal as raw material.

Note: Coal chemical technology generally includes two links. coal conversion and subsequent processing.

3.2 Coal conversion

The process of converting coal into gas, liquid and solid products mainly by chemical methods.

3.3 Coal pyrolysis

Coal is continuously heated under different atmospheric conditions without air or without oxidant, and coal undergoes a series of physical changes at different final temperatures.

Chemical and chemical reactions, and the process of generating products such as gas (gas), liquid (tar), solid (semi-coke or coke).

Note: Coal pyrolysis can generally be divided into high temperature pyrolysis (about 900°C~1100°C), medium temperature pyrolysis (about 660°C~750°C) and low temperature pyrolysis (about 500°C~1100°C) 580°C).

3.4 Coal gasification

Under certain temperature and pressure conditions, the process of converting coal into carbon monoxide and hydrogen-based gas with a gasification agent.

Note: Coal gasification mainly includes fixed bed, fluidized bed, entrained bed and other gasification processes.

3.5 Coal liquefaction

The process by which coal is converted into liquid products through a series of chemical processes.

Note: Coal liquefaction is generally divided into direct liquefaction and indirect liquefaction.

3.6 Coal-based chemicals

Chemical products produced from coal.

3.7 Coal-based poly-generation

Using coal as raw material, through the optimization and integration of multiple single technologies, it is a technical system that produces a variety of energy and chemicals. END. Draft Version (GB/T 31428-2021)
