1.Coal Geology and Exploration", and is consistent with GB/T 15663.1- Compared to.2008, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Some terms and definitions have been deleted; see Appendix A for details.

1 Scope

GB/T 15663.1-2025 is the Chinese national standard on terms relating to coal mining - part 1: coal geology and prospecting, in the field of mining and minerals. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 5 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026. Classification: ICS 73.040, CCS D04. 3 The origin and composition of coal
